About Python Blue

Python Blue is the alias of an American musician with a growing name in synthwave and soundtrack circles. Born in 1992, computer games were among his first addictions, the music for computer games especially, eventually growing his interests to classic movie soundtracks as well.

At the age of 17, he started seriously considering composing more pieces for movie and game fans to enjoy. In the process, however, he took note of how much the music industry has changed, not only legally and procedurally, but also in terms of the music itself. In a time when most insist on an “out with the old, in with the new” position on technology, he began somewhat unique instrumentation ideas based on his hesitance to jump as quickly into the future sound as other musicians, emphasizing a sound reminiscent of the 1980s and 1990s.

Thus, SgtYayap Productions, a title dedicated to the Halo franchise, was born. He released a series of demo tracks titled “SgtYayap’s Compilation” before deciding to change his alias to Python Blue, a name starting to gain fame among '80s revival fans and game developers especially.

And gain fame it did. In 2014, he was involved with the notable game mod Amnesia: The Great Work. Then, in 2019, as luck would have it, he managed to land the role as music composer for the well-selling video game Brok: The InvestiGator, an innovative hybrid of point-and-click meets beat-em-up. Since then, he's been actively involved with game music and open-source music technology projects of various scales.
